Richard Min

Co-Founder: Korea

About:

Richard is a serial entrepreneur and former VC across the world. Following a stroke a few years back, Richard is a huge advocate of living a plant-based lifestyle following his stroke and focusses much of his time on impact investing.

Why are we partnering with Richard?

We’re not sure we’ve come across anyone quite as passionate as Richard to take RockCorps to their home country – it’s seriously infectious! With his entrepreneurial background, passion for social change and expansive network, we can’t wait to work with Richard to launch RockCorps in Korea.

Q&A

Richard, why did you choose to become a Country Co-Founder?

Well, in other words, what can I give back to the world?

Before the stroke…

I was interested in all the hot, sexy stuff; technology, ecosystems, fashion as an entrepreneur, startup accelerators and VC (venture capital), I wanted to accelerate innovation in Asia.

But then I suffered a near-death stroke.

After the stroke

I reflected on what went wrong. While recovering, my mother passed away from pancreatic cancer. Focusing on my health, I realized that both my stroke and her cancer were avoidable with healthy food and plant-based diet. Mind blowing! I have since started my plant-based VC studio, but I want more – to show the world in this to save the earth. Yes, that’s right. Whether it's by championing plant-based eating, women empowerment, and animal rights or preventing the envinronmental crisis and human trafficking - I want to create a social impact on Korea (well, worldwide, but I will start in Korea first). I'm not a politician, so I want change through plant-based venture capital and music!

Now in recovery,...

I am re-evaluating what I want to do with the rest of my life. What can I give back to the world?

RockCorps Korea is the music and volunteers combined into one place. I love it!
