RockCorps was founded in 2003 to affect social change and act as the bridge between communities in need and the young adults who want to make them better.
The company evolved from the early work of the Greenbucks Foundation, headquartered in Telluride, Colorado. Active in the mid-1990's, Greenbucks worked with town officials to develop a way for local residents to become better stewards of the environment.
RockCorps makes volunteering cool by creating a positive experience for young adults around their passion for music and the inherent satisfaction gained from being empowered, productive citizens.
RockCorps partnered with Boost Mobile in the summer of 2005. During the past two years, over 30,000 people across the U.S. have participated in the Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC) movement.
