RockCorps Japan 2017: 4,595 volunteers celebrate in Tokyo!

RockCorps Japan 2017 ended in true style in Tokyo on Saturday night!

4,595 volunteers have been working incredibly hard throughout the summer – stretching across several regions from Tokyo to Fukushima. Projects included beach clean ups, photo restoration after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, building toys to be donated to schools and hospitals and helping farmers with harvesting and crop rotation.

This was our first year celebrating in Tokyo at Makuhari Messe and what a celebration it was! The night opened with a high energy set from Japanese rock band Spyair. Our talented RockCorps Japan ambassador Takamina sang next, in between her presenting the show, alongside fellow MC Ryusuke Kelly. The brilliant Androp gave an emotional tribute to all of the volunteers during their performance and they were followed by the amazing and very lovely Miwa. DJ Nanashima kept everyone dancing throughout sets and finally our fabulous headliners Fifth Harmony took to the stage to close the show.

A massive thank you to everyone involved, but most of all to our incredible and passionate volunteers!
